  • Job Description:

    As the Galley Coordinator, you are responsible for overall (vegetarian) food service on Adventuress. Facilitate a healthy shipboard diet with plentiful and nutritious food. Participate and oversee crew in keeping commercially certified galley clean, organized, and compliant with Health Codes. Solicit food donations and manage relationships with donors. Note: Role may require longer or different hours than the rest of the crew.

  • Program & Itinerary:

    The 133′ schooner Adventuress operates on the West Coast in Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands. Onboard programs for youth and adults include both day sails and weeklong overnight programs focused on environmental education and maritime skills.

  • Responsibilities:

    General responsibilities for each crew are as follows:
    As a crew member, you are living and working aboard the historic schooner Adventuress with up to 15 other crew and up to 24 other participants during an overnight program. Crew members have various roles and responsibilities, but all actively participate in delivering the Sound Experience education curriculum, daily aspects of shipboard life and assist in safe and proper vessel operation. Programs aboard Adventuress range from 3 to 6-day overnight voyages, as well as 3 to 5-hour educational day sails, dockside tours, 3-hour sails for members, festivals, transits, fundraising events, other day sails and virtual programs.

  • Qualifications/Experience:

    All applicants must be 18 or older. Current with flu and Covid vaccinations by start of sailing season. Be able to obtain CPR & First Aid Certification and WA Food handler card by start of season. WFR preferred for experienced crew. See individual job descriptions for additional qualifications.

  • Compensation: $1,999 to $2,300 Monthly
  • Benefits:
