Tall ships at the dock are a unique and significant contributor to local event interest, promotion and participation, along with providing a positive economic impact for the community. To help meet the demand for ships, Tall Ships America developed the Hospitality Port program which is intended for single vessel port stops.
Hospitality Ports benefit from Tall Ships America’s experience, expertise and relationships with our member vessels. The berth can be associated with a yacht club, marina or city/town. Visits can coincide with shoreside events or be a supported stopover, (ie. Free docking in exchange for public boarding). Hospitality Ports are also valuable as a protected and amenable place for a ship to stop for the night to do laundry and provide some shore leave.
