She is named after Aquidneck Island on which Newport, Rhode Island is located. Aquidneck is named after an Indian name meaning “Isle of peace.” Close sister ships include the schooners Freda B (ex Liberty), Spirit of Independence, and Inland Seas. Aquidneck offers daily scheduled day sails abd private charters and to guests of all ages from historic Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, RI.
